- Steven Thomas was born in Santa Clara California. At the age of nine he moved to Santa Cruz California, arguably the surfing Mecca of the United States. This is where his father, Chris Thomas, introduced him to the life-changing sport of surfing. At the age of 18 Steven turned professional in the sub-sport of surfing referred to as modern Long boarding. Throughout his surfing career, it’s been said that he has the gift of gab. This gift has lead him to develop strong relationships with filmmakers and photographers. Commonly on both sides of the camera lens, he’s produced editorial content for various surf magazines such as LONGBOARD MAGAZINE, AND PACIFIC LONGBOARD, MAGAZINE, Japan’s NALU MAGAZINE Japan, and Spain’s GLIDE MAGAZINE. As a surfer, Steven’s success is marked by his appearance on two covers of LONGBOARD and PACIFIC LONGBOARD Magazine in addition to constant coverage on a national and international level. He has appeared in several feature-length surf films including FIN, SHUTTER SPEED, NOMADS, ANTICS and on FUEL tv’s show LONGBOARD TV.
